First Chemo Treatment

Hello everyone. I posted the longest blog the other night, and somehow it has disappeared and I can't find it anywhere! So bummed! Today was Molly's first chemotherapy treatment. I thought last week was chemo, but it wasn't. Not sure what it was.. I guss just something to get the swelling in her lymph nodes to go down, which they did.

Sponsored Pet Pac's Latest Blog Post: A New Year!

A new year is upon us and with it, hopes and dreams for 2013! Sniffing our yard - unusually devoid of snow - in the calm of night and with holiday lights still sparkling in the trees, I wish not only for myself, but for my fellow RCF pets, days...weeks...months...a year of health and happiness in our fight against cancer! How ever long, I know we are loved each day.

Million Dog March Home Game!

Attending today's Million Dog March in Chicago is not possible for me today...my hips are a bit sore and it is a 2-hour ride. But that doesn't stop me from playing games at home and having fun while I think of my fellow-cancer-surviving canines are at the event! And those who are at home!

Here's Looking at You!

Well, I've shared that the vision has vanished in my left eye - due to the radiation. This blog photo will be the last you see of me looking back at you with a twinkle in both eyes. I am scheduled for Wednesday morning to have my now disfunctional left eye removed. Actually this will be better for me. I have been having trouble with infections; Mom's been using various drops, lotions and pills to help.

And When I Open My Eyes ...

it will be Spring! Guess it didn't work. It has been getting a bit warmer in southwest Michigan, but you can see I still have my winter coat on, and a few extra pounds!Been changing around some of my eye medication, seems I am having a reaction to one. Change can be good. I have lost some of the fur over my left eye now from meds but it is having a good heart that matters, not good looks.

Lucky!

Sorry I've not posted in awhile. Had trouble with the web transition and now ready to retry! This month has been a lucky one...yes that is a shamrock in the corner of our photo! Mom survived spiral meningitis, Nan was losing her vision but it has been restored with drugs and I have been alive 16 months since radiation! There is happiness to be found even in dealing with our challenges. Life is about realizing that and celebrating simple joys!
